Field Engineer-Seattle, WA
FIELD ENGINEER
American Bridge Company seeks a Field Engineer in Seattle, Washington, to: (i) provide engineering support for the field team on daily activities; (ii) manage pre-construction planning activities, review, and comments on schedule; (iii) produce lift plans; (iv) coordinate structural steel and cable stay material delivery with storage yards to match site production; (v) oversee and maintain production tracking; (vi) supervise cable stay subcontractor; and (vii) coordinate and supervise structural repairs on marine equipment.
Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience in a related position in the construction industry.
Must also have any experience: (i) with structural steel erection, including logical trade sequence of work, materials, methods, and tools involved in the steel construction industry; (ii) optimizing assembly to enhance schedule and reduce costs; (iii) scheduling; (iv) using CAD to produce technical details drawings and coordination drawings; (v) controlling production costs; (vi) loading and offloading equipment and material on barges; (vii) coordinating marine transport of permanent material assisted with tugboat; (viii) supervising reconfiguration of barges; (ix) calculating barge buoyancy for loading; (x) setting up bolting tests and procedures; and (xi) using hydraulic cylinder and pump for lifting and tensioning purposes.
Experience can be concurrent.
Must be willing and able domestically and internationally to travel up to 25%.
