The Internship Program in Surveying at American Bridge provides challenging and rewarding work opportunities for college students majoring in Surveying. This is an opportunity to join one of the industry leading Bridge and Marine Construction Companies and work on some of the world’s most complex and marquee civil engineering projects that include the Tappan Zee Bridge, San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
As an Intern Student with American Bridge, you will be given the opportunity to apply your academic training and skills in a real-world setting at any number of project locations throughout the United States, Caribbean, and Canada. As a paid Intern, you will spend your summers assisting our Surveying, Engineering and Operations staff in the application of principles, means & methods, and techniques of surveying while, at the same time learning and gaining valuable experience working as member of the American Bridge Surveying Department on one of our project job-sites.
Under the direction of experienced surveyors and engineers, you will perform a variety of surveying support assignments for bridge and marine construction projects requiring the application of surveying knowledge and CAD drafting skills. You will gain real-world experience working with the latest in surveying equipment, including robotic total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and aerial drones. You will be trained in OSHA safety standards and receive OSHA certification.
• Incumbent must be enrolled in a Surveying or Civil/Survey related curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed at least two years of studies in said curriculum including trigonometry.
• Candidates must have experience with PC’s and knowledge of CAD Software.
